Latamcyber is delighted to introduce our Artist in Residence, Brian Mackern. Brian joined us here in Liverpool last week, and will be with us until the end of October. During his time with us, Brian will be working on his ongoing artist projects, as well as running and participating in a whole series of exciting events, including workshops, installations, concerts and talks. You can find out more about these on our Events pages.
Brian is from Uuruguay and is one of the leading new media artists in Latin America. His work is often characterized by its focus on processes, structures and found footage, and he explores interface design, alternative browsing, the creation of soundtoys, video-data animations in real time, net art and sound art. He has presented his work and given workshops and lectures on numerous tours in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Germany, Belgium and Korea.
This is the first time that Brian will be exhibiting his work in the UK, and we are delighted to be able to host him here in Liverpool, in conjunction with FACT and the Liverpool Independents Biennial.
For more about Brian and his practice, see: http://netart.org.uy/brian.html
We’ll be keeping you up to date on all the events Brian will be involved in, so do keep an eye on our blog over the coming weeks!
