Latamcyber is delighted to announce that we will be holding two exciting follow-up events stemming from our Cities in Dialogue exhibition which ran during the Independents Biennial in 2014.
On Wednesday 11th February and Wednesday 18 February, Claire Taylor and Jordana Blejmar, curators of the exhibition and researchers on the project, will be facilitating two workshops with the Veterans in Practice digital art group. The workshops will be follow-up sessions with our Artist in Residence, Brian Mackern , who was here in Liverpool in October 2014, and who held a mapping workshop with them.
The two workshops will provide the opportunity for members of the group to ask questions to the artist and bring him up to date with their plans, particularly as regards their ongoing Memorial project.
The first of the two workshops will be a preparatory event, as the group design their interaction with the artist. The second of the two workshops will be a telepresence event with the artist himself, who, speaking from his home town of Uruguay, will dialogue with the group and share thoughts and artistic practice.
We’ll be blogging and tweeting about the workshops, so keep an eye on our blog and on our twitter account: @latamcyber
If you’d like to join in the tweets, we’d recommend the hashtag #citiesindialogue
The Cities in Dialogue exhibition is part of the Latin(o) American Digital Art project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
